The same new BMW electric vehicle (EV) project was the main reason for Andreas Di Vece, Chief Operating Officer (COO), visiting YUL on September 8 and 9, 2021. With him were Marton Czenek, Head of Business and Operations Planning, Mehmet Sonmez, YRL General Manager & Head of Manufacturing Region Cluster 3, Dan Ionita, Deputy General Manager YRL & Director of Manufacturing Cluster 3 and Marta Turczyk, Director HR Manufacturing.

They also became acquainted with the local production as a whole. Therefore, the visitors were given a tour of the plant including all production stages and the training center. Key performance indicators were reviewed too. “It was BMW’s first premium EV launch and YEL delivered. We had a flawless start so far. The cross-functional teamwork was outstanding. We also passed all development phases perfectly. Of course, we identified some opportunities during the visit, but I’m very confident that the team will manage that”, Di Vece concluded.
