Sustainability: Yazaki Responsible Production
Currently the world is not utilizing its natural resources responsibly: We consume far beyond what our planet can provide. We must learn how to produce in sustainable ways. Yazaki has been working towards responsible production for decades and we will continue to intensify these activities as a central strategic pillar for the future. Our current efforts include:
- All Yazaki manufacturing sites have been certified by ISO 14001 (eco-friendly production).
- We permanently monitor our manufacturing plants’ environmental performance.
- We follow EPC (Environmental Product Compliance) to define a systematic approach for managing the use of different materials in products according to environmental regulations.
- We take part in the IMDS (International Material Data System): IMDS is owned by several car manufacturers and was developed with the purpose to gather environmentally relevant information on parts and materials along the automotive supply chain.
- SoC (Substances of Concern) testing management: It is a Yazaki global activity to ensure that parts (including raw materials) which are manufactured or purchased comply with the EU ELV (End-of-Life Vehicles) and EU RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substance) directives.
- We have a Supplier Code of Conduct with sustainability expectations for the supply chain.
